“Adelynn”, watercolor portrait commission

Wow folks, I was VERY busy this holiday season finishing up commissions of every variety! I wanted to share a few of them since Christmas is over and it is safe to share :-). One of my favorites is this one. Adelynn is the daughter of a dear friend of mine, I will be doing her little sis, too. She is just GORGEOUS with her red hair and freckles! This commission is an 8 x 10″ watercolor on Ampersand Aquabord. I am posting a close up shot so you can see the details. She was an absolute joy to paint πŸ™‚

  1. Terrific. How do you work on the aquabord. I have quite a few pieces and have completed a few landscapes, but wondered if I could use them for portraits. I would need to do a few layers of glazing. Did you do the skin tones in one application. The easy lifting on the aquabord is both a bonus and can be a bane if I lift more than I intend. Really good portrait work.
